Summary
With the introduction of The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe and other data privacy laws being introduced in a number of US states and in countries such as Canada and Japan (amongst other countries), individuals’ rights over their personal data are being strengthened globally. The aim is to protect and empower citizens to preserve their data privacy.
The GDPR applies to all non profit and for profit organizations, wherever they are based in the world, that hold any personal data about any United Kingdom and/or European Union citizen. It has reshaped the way organizations approach data privacy and data management, and has influenced other jurisdictions to review their own data privacy laws.
This webinar will address how associations are affected by these laws so you are prepared for current and future compliant data management. It will identify what you need to do to become aligned with the new data privacy regimes, thereby engendering greater trust with your members and stakeholders through increased transparency and good practice in data management, and reinforcing your reputation for safeguarding their data.
Our partners, The Trust Bridge (TTB) are data privacy specialists whose current experience working with a number of associations will help you understand what associations need to do to demonstrate GDPR and data management compliance and accountability, including the obligations that associations are required to deliver to members.
